Give your Garden a Musical Makeover!
Quick Fix Easy Borders of Mixed Annuals
Fans of Buddy Holly, Rod Stewart and the Beach Boys will be able to give their gardens a musical makeover in 2011 thanks to exclusive new seed introductions from Johnsons. And the same goes for those who appreciate the music of Michael Jackson, the Hollies and Ricky Nelson. Johnsons has launched six new, hardy annual flower seed mixtures, all named after girls made famous by the singers. Together they form the Quick Fix Easy Borders sub-range of colour-themed blends which will create a complete flower bed or border from one spring sowing.
Buddy Holly's Peggy Sue is a low-growing blend in a blaze of contrasting colours and flower forms, making it ideal for edging beds, borders and paths. Maggie May is perfect for creating a ‘hot spot' of fiery colours, while the varieties which compose Barbara Ann have been chosen for their suitability for hot, dry locations and their ability to flower with very little watering.
Billie Jean, made famous by Michael Jackson, will give a long-lasting display of cooling shades which bring an air of tranquillity to the garden. Carrie Ann, a hit for the Hollies, is a soft, gentle mix of cottage garden favourites for those wishing to create a nostalgic, romantic feel to their borders. The sextet is completed by Mary Lou, from Ricky Nelson's 1961 chart hit ‘Hello Mary Lou', which gives layers of colour as the season progresses, increasing in height through the summer. All are priced at £2.05 for a 1gm packet of seeds.
The company's Leila Russell says "Our Quick Fix Easy Borders are just that! They give a quick and easy flower bed, which will last all summer long with a little dead-heading - and at £2.05 per packet, given the current economic climate, they are excelent value for those gardening on a budget".
